8-Day The Best of Kenya Wildlife Safari

This is a 8-Day The Best of Kenya Wildlife Safari; The Big 5 Kenya Safari has been designed to optimize your experience. Focusing on the best locations to see the Big 5, the tour takes you through the different ecological zones of Kenya. The tour provides you with a unique opportunity to get a taste not only the wildlife and spectacular bird life of Kenya, but also a feel for some of the more notable tribes.

Day 1: The Kenyan Highlands:

After breakfast we begin our safari. We head north towards Mt. Kenya, crossing the beautiful Kenyan Highlands. These rolling hills are the source of the majority of Kenya’s fruit. We will eventually reach the foot of Mt. Kenya (17,057 ft) and if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of its peaks. We arrive in time for lunch at our camp, found in a sheltered oasis, with the individual Luxury Safari Tents clustered around a water hole and set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy. During the afternoon you will have the opportunity to go for our first game drive, or enjoy a relaxing afternoon beside the pool.

Day 2 Ol Pejeta and all her Glory:

After an early breakfast guests are invited for an early morning game drive in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This large conservancy is one of the best known private conservancies in Kenya. Along with excellent game viewing the abundance of both White and Black Rhinos are unique to Ol Pejeta. After a bush lunch you will have the option to continue with your game drive or to visit the chimpanzee sanctuary located within the conservancy. Additional activities such as Lion Tracking, Guided Bush Walks, Night Game Drives, or a visit to meet Ol Pejeta’s Baby Rhinos during feeding time.

Day 3: The Great Lakes:

After breakfast we enjoy a last morning game drive in Ol Pejeta, we then head west zigzagging back and forth over the equator stopping for lunch overlooking Thompson’s Falls and then continuing our descent of the escarpment into the Great Rift Valley. We will arrive at Lake Elementeita, home to some 400 bird species ad the principal breeding ground of the pelican. The beautiful lodge is located overlooking the lake.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park:

After an early breakfast, we head to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingo populations and variety of birdlife. The park is also home to Rothschild’s Giraffe, Leopard, Lions, Buffalo, both Black and White Rhino, and a variety of other animals. We return to the Lodge to enjoy a magical African sunset.

Day 5: Hell’s Gate National Park and Lake Naivasha:

We will head off early to arrive at Hell’s Gate National Park, one of the only national parks that allow visitors to walk or bicycle alongside the African wildlife. Serval Cats and Klipspringer Antelope are among the highlights of Hell’s Gate. After lunch we will take an afternoon boat ride on Lake Naivasha, which will take us to the Crescent Island Game Reserve where we will enjoy a walking safari, with a specialized bird guide. In the late afternoon we will head back to our lodge located on the shores of lake Naivasha.

Day 6: The Magic of Masai Mara:

After a splendid breakfast we head to the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve. We will enjoy an afternoon game drive en route to our camp located on the shores of the winding Mara River. Masai Mara brings together the most magnificent opportunities for game viewing in Kenya. After an exciting afternoon of game watching we return to the camp for a memorable night.

Day 7: The Masai Mara:

Following breakfast next to the Mara River, we head out for our morning game drive. Morning game drives in the Mara often provide special surprises. The camp is perfectly located in the center of the Masai Mara, providing access to every corner. But often we don’t need to travel far as there are several migration river crossing points, with in a few minutes of the camp. A hot air balloon safari can be arranged for this morning (not included in the price). You are free to set your schedule today, we can return to camp for a hot lunch or head out with lunch boxes in order to spend the full day on game drive.

Day 8: Across the Rift Valley:

After a last morning game drive we enjoy lunch at the camp before head back to the urban life of Nairobi, crossing the Great Rift Valley and climbing the escarpment, we can stop along the way to do some last sight seeing or to find that last minute souvenir. You will then be dropped at your hotel in Nairobi or at the airport for your international flight back home. For those with late night flights, it is possible to arrange a day room to rest and freshen-up before heading to the airport (at an extra charge).
