Yes, it doesn’t mean a smoker can‘t summit Kilimanjaro or even Everest. But it does make it much harder. … Some people just can‘t cope with going high (Edmund Hillary, for instance, never climbed another high peak after Everest – he developed severe altitude sickness on his next climb, and never acclimatized fully again).
