Can you arrive late to Ngorongoro
Question
How late can you arrive at the lodges at Ngorongoro? I have a flight that arrives at Kilimanjaro airport at 12:55 pm and would like to be at the Sopa lodge by that evening. Is it possible to arrive in the evening? Also- does anyone know a good transport company to drive me there. Or should I fly to Lake Manyara airstrip.

It’s a 5 hour drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. You should also account for delays at the Kilimanjaro International Airport such as bags not showing up, flight arriving late and visa lines. If all these go smoothly then you will be able to make it into the park before 6:30 pm.
I would stay near the airport for that night and drive to Ngorongoro the next morning. So you could enjoy the scenery. And driving in the dark for that distance is not good, even with driver. I wouldn’t do this.
