Gorilla treks may not open for some time. At least not for the next two months. Since some gorillas travel between the borders (Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda shares border with Rwanda), opening of treks will have to be coordinated between the three countries (Rwanda, Uganda and DR Congo).
A recent communication from the Uganda Wildlife Authority, and the Government of Uganda said gorilla treks, chimps and other primate tracking has been suspended until further notice. This is specific to Uganda.
