Group tours to the crater from gate

We’re planning a trip to Tanzania in september/october, and we’re planning to stay at the Simba camp site for our visit to Ngorongoro. We know that it’s possible to hire a guide at the entrance, but is there any possibilities to join a group day tour from the entrance or the camp site? Or are all the tours from Karatu or Arusha?

There are none from Simba camp because you must have a permit with vehicle details – payment from descent fee etc Karatu you have to find a company to take you, and because the various company’s are further apart meaning walking or taxis – my advice arrange before hand – try Kudu lodge or similar before arrival….
