How many days in Zanzibar

Question

I’m travelling to Zanzibar in mid-July. How many days should I stay in order to see Stone Town and do some water activities? Is 5 days too short? A week? Also, can I use Stone Town as a base to go out into the island, or should I find other accommodations by the beaches?

    I’d recommend 2 days in Stone Town to do the sights and experience the culture. If your budget allows, I’d recommend you stay at Emerson Spice.

    I’d definitely recommend a few days staying at the beach. You don’t need to burst the bank for this part. The attraction for me is ‘getting back to basics’.
