Practical Driving Distance in a Day

Question

Planning Northern Circuit visit in July/August 19. If doing private guide/driving safari: Is planning to driving from Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti Mara (e.g., Lemala Ngorongoro to Lemala Kuria Hills) in a day realistic/practical/crazy? Approximately how long would that drive be? Do not want to wear out driver or cause unnecessary fatigue. Would that be a great game-drive experience for animal spotting or Serengeti sight-seeing? Thank you in advance.

  1. It’s a very long drive. It can be done, but you wouldn’t be happy doing it. You won’t have a lot of time to stop for sightings. Why not break up the drive by staying — at least overnight — at Lemala Ewanjan in the central Serengeti, since you seem to be focusing on Lemala properties? It’s a wonderful location — if you can afford the time, you should spend a few days there.
