Tipping is certainly not compulsory but if you feel your guide/apprentice guide has done a good job and offered you an enjoyable and knowledgeable trip then rest assured they will always be happy to receive a tip. A guideline is N$10/day for your guide and N$5 day for the apprentice guide is good, but you will get more information from a tour operator, they have different policies!
