You may think the answer is the Roadrunner, but the Ostrich is actually the fastest-running bird. Ostriches can travel up to 45 mph on a long run and can even reach a speed of 60 mph for a short period of time. Roadrunners can run up to 26 mph, which is the fastest speed reported for a flying bird. Ostriches don’t fly.
